“Fighting Stallions”. Camargue stallions were the inspiration for this monumental statue. The maquette was made by Gabriël Sterk after visiting Saintes Maries de la Mer in May 1966 to attend the Gypsy Pilgrimage. Only 30 years later a monumental statue of the stallions was created.
